All-on-4 implants are proven to last at least 20 years or longer with proper care. The implant posts do not need to be replaced after they are inserted the first time. However, the denture may require minor adjustments through time as it is subject to daily wear and tear.
Unlike traditional dental implants where a typical arch needs 6-8 individual implants, All-on-4 uses only four implants at an angle which together support the arch. Moreover, no bone grafting is required for these implants, leading to reduced procedural time and costs compared to traditional implants.
For one arch of teeth, the surgery operation takes about 2.5 hours. After the insertion of the four implants, a temporary set of teeth is provided for up to 6 months until the tissue heals from surgery. After the tissue around the implants has healed, the permanent teeth will be installed.
No. All-On-4 implants are a suitable solution for anyone who is currently wearing dentures or has lost most or all of their teeth. Age is not a factor for this procedure as long as the patient is in good health.
